Moraina

Last Labor Day Novel, I wrote the beginning of a story which looks like it wants to be the prequel to the Duchene saga. It was inspired by Emerald Sword by Rhapsody of Fire.

Tonight I may have found the theme music for something else. Hand of Sorrow by Within Temptation may be my inspiration for what comes after - either Part III which will focus on the story of James, or a sequel to the entire saga. The song could easily be about the story from Moraina's perspective.

I'm going to let it bake in the back of my mind until next September and see what happens by then.


UPDATE: Never mind. Apparently it's based on the Farseer trilogy by Robin Hobb. I can't exactly rewrite that...

More on Edward

Yesterday I wrote around 500 more words and got through the rest of the ritual. It took a while to figure out exactly how it needed to go. Basically the part I was missing was that it had to go wrong - and that regardless of how the shamans were planning for it to go, it wasn't going to happen that way.

Now I'm at another pause point, where I'm wondering whether I'll need to write the same ritual again from another character's POV, or if I should continue forward even though not as much info went into the ritual scene as I was hoping.

No new work on Vengeance either. They've reached Hernando, and I'm still ruminating on how to set up the scene.
